What You Talkin' 'Bout?
A StoryCorps bus.
Everybody has a story to tell. And tell it they shall! To StoryCorps, that is. The non-profit is creating an oral-history project of more than 50,000 Americans’ life stories, and will roll its audio-equipped Airstream trailer to Discovery Green park for one month to record 40-minute candid sessions with H-Towners. The sessions are recorded onto a CD for participants, and an archival copy of their story gets housed in the American Folklife Center at the National Library of Congress—and could potentially be aired on one of NPR’s Morning Edition radio shows. Reservations open Nov. 5 at 10am and tend to fill up in the first five minutes. Sign up at storycorps.org or call 800.850.4406. Nov. 19–Dec. 19, Discovery Green Park, 1500 Mckinney St.
