Golden Rule

An award-winning design represents the best of alfresco living—Sonoran Desert style.

Selected from more than 1,100 entries in the best outdoor living space category, Toll Brothers’ Trovilla at Talon Ranch was the only Arizona property honored at the 2017 National Association of Home Builders International Builders’ Show. Creative Environments in Tempe conceptualized the dynamic design and refined landscape.

Featuring multiple folding glass doors opening to expansive patios, a lavish outdoor kitchen, a swim-up stone veranda in the center of a sparkling negative-edge pool and even a dedicated space for lawn games, it is no surprise Toll Brothers’ Trovilla model won the Gold Award for best outdoor living space at 2017 National Association of Home Builders International Builders’ Show in January. “The design was inspired by our desire to create a luxurious, functional, entertainment-oriented, resortlike outdoor space with a desert contemporary style, all for taking full advantage of Scottsdale’s weather,” says Toll Brothers Division Senior Vice President Kevin Rosinski. Like all of the 33 home sites in Talon Ranch, the Trovilla nests on an acre-plus lot, so the only neighbors bothered by the sounds of a lively backyard soiree would be the four-legged ones.
